MOVEPROTECT with Basil Fry
MoveProtect developed by Basil Fry, is an innovative and reliable solution designed to provide protection for customers’ goods during transit and storage.
As a removal and storage contractor, you can provide this valuable additional service to your customers, saving them the hassle of sourcing their own protection.
MoveProtect is flexible and can provide solutions for all sizes of operations. Whether you are a small business with a single vehicle that needs only goods in transit protection, a large multi-depot operator, or international shipper we can help you provide protection for your customers’ goods.
How Does MoveProtect Work?
In conjunction with a few minor amendments to standard contract conditions, MoveProtect allows operators to agree an enhanced limit of liability from the standard limited liability position found in most contracts (commonly £40 or £50 per single item, box, case or suite).
Basil Fry Underwriting, in turn, provides an insurance policy to the remover that agrees to pay for any loss or damage to these customers’ goods where liability is accepted, in accordance with the operator’s terms and conditions and the MoveProtect Addendum.
Customers must declare their maximum replacement value, review and agree to the operator’s terms and conditions and MoveProtect Addendum and pay any MoveProtect charges levied by the operator for the additional service being provided.
Key Advantages of MoveProtect
- Convenient Protection: Customers do not need to spend time looking for their own protection.
- No Excess: Unlike online offerings, there is no excess for customers to pay in the event of a claim.
- Continuous Protection: Protection under MoveProtect remains in place for the duration of the transit and associated storage periods if the customer pays the MoveProtect fees charged by the operator, unlike online arrangements, which may lapse during the storage period, putting customers at risk.
- Worldwide Protection: MoveProtect is available for both UK and European movers as well as for deep-sea shipments.
- Expert Claims Service: Customers have direct access to Removal Claims Service, Basil Fry’s in-house claims settlement team. This team settles around 3,000 – 5,000 customers’ goods claims annually and is seen as the industry’s most experienced team in the UK.
- Charging for StoreProtect Each Operator can set their own MoveProtect charges. The charge should represent fair value for the service being provided.
